• Notes From the Field: “The Maroon-Bells near Aspen, Colorado is often referred to as ‘the most photographed mountain scene in North America.’ Indeed, on this autumn morning, there were close to 100 photographers lined along the banks of Maroon Lake for this iconic sunrise shot.
  As the first rays of light fell upon the Maroon-Bells, I bracketed this scene in order to capture the extreme tonal range between the sunlit peaks and the foreground which still remained in darkness. Using a combination of processing techniques, I was able to create a HDR image that captures both the dynamic sunrise lighting and the bounty of fall colors surrounding the lake.”
